A Tribute to Jimmy
On Tuesday July 8, The Willows Golf Course lost a great man that can never be replaced in Mr. Jimmy Sceviour
Jimmy was a man of remarkable work ethic, and dedicated 29 years to the Willows Golf Course where his care and craftsmanship helped shape it into one of the region’s premier courses. He was also a talented carpenter, always willing to lend a hand—even after a long day’s work—demonstrating his tireless dedication and generosity.
Jimmy's work is obvious to any and all who have played the Willows course; and through good weather and bad Jimmy was always there with his larger-than-life smile and huge heart for the Willows and its staff and players. There was no job too big or too small for Jimmy to tackle and complete with great pride and passion. In recent years, to honour the hard work and dedication to The Willows, course owner and architect Mr. Danny Williams ordered a plaque to be placed by the number eight-hole cart path to highlight the work of Jimmy. He took such pride in keeping the Willows the beautiful place it is, especially after severe weather events damaged the course. Jimmys efforts, along with others, kept The Willows in pristine shape over the years!
Most people can only dream of leaving behind the kind of legacy that Jimmy Sceviour did - his kindness, his dedication and his craftsmanship made the Willows the place that it is today and it will remain his legacy for many years to come. To say Jimmy will be missed is a massive understatement and he will never be forgotten by his family atThe Willows!!
